Preparing For A Drug Test

  • You must bring government issued photo identification (Driver’s License, Passport, etc.).
  • Dress appropriately – all outerwear must be removed prior to testing including jacket, sweaters, coveralls, boots etc. Nothing can be taken into the testing room with you so consider leaving valuables in your vehicle.

If providing a urine sample:

Drink normal amounts of fluids prior to the test. Drinking excessive amounts of fluids may dilute a urine sample and render it invalid. You’ll be required to provide a freshly voided urine sample. It will be tested immediately and the certified collector will check for: unexpected temperature, unexpected volume, unusual colour, unusual odour, presence of foreign objects or material, tampering, adulteration, or substitution. If any of the above are found, you’ll need to provide a second urine sample or, possibly, undertake an observed collection.

If providing an oral fluid sample:

Do not eat, drink or put anything in your mouth for at least 15 minutes prior to the test. This includes water, cigarette, gum etc.

Breath Alcohol Testing

Breath alcohol testing determines the concentration of alcohol in a breath sample. We administer breath alcohol testing using evidential breath-testing devices for both screening tests and confirmation tests, to ensure accurate results. Screening Tests – Determines if a person’s alcohol concentration level is above 0.02 Confirmation Tests – Determines if a person’s alcohol concentration level is above 0.04. If a person’s screening test indicates an alcohol concentration level above 0.02, a breath alcohol confirmation test is performed. Our alcohol testing is administered by Certified Breath Alcohol Technicians and our equipment is regularly calibrated.
